Morning Prayer

L.	Lord, teach us to pray.
R.	In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Praise of the Lord

L.	Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
R.	Praise and honour to you for ever.
L.	Praise to you, Apostle of the Eternal Father.
R.	Praise to you, sacrifice for the salvation of the world.
L.	Praise to you, risen from the dead, in the glory of heaven.
R.	Praise to you in your holy Church.
L.	Lord Jesus Christ, we come together as your people and thank you for the new day. Open our ears that we may hear you speaking to us. Give us believing hearts so that our lives may be acceptable to you. May we live with you, who live and reign for ever and ever.
R.	Amen.

Reflection

A.     The Law of the Society of the Catholic Apostolate reads:

"All the members of the Society live in a spirit which is ever renewed by the love which Jesus brought to the earth.  As the Apostle of the Eternal Father, he makes known to the world that God is Infinite Love. He calls men and women, first created in God's own image, and later restored to grace through Christ's death, to give themselves entirely to God and to the service of humanity, and to work for the salvation of the world." (SAC Law 10)

B.     St. Vincent Pallotti writes about Christ's mission:

"Our Lord Jesus Christ is the Apostle of the Eternal Father, who sent him to make amends for the broken honour of God and to redeem all humanity.  The apostolate of Jesus Christ is his life of obedience to the will of the Father whereby he brings about the redemption." (OOCC III 42f)

Reflection

A.     St. Vincent Pallotti places before us the ideal of Christ's spirit of sacrifice:

"Through the mystery of the incarnation, Our Lord Jesus Christ entered into this world in the spirit of sacrifice, and lived and died on the Cross in that same Spirit. Hence out of love for our Lord Jesus Christ we are bound to destroy all inclinations offensive to God, and to live and die in the practice of the spirit of sacrifice from the we enter the Union of Catholic Apostolate until our death." (cfr. OOCC VII 9-10)

B.     St. Vincent Pallotti writes about Christ's mission:

"Because you, O God, are the Infinite Love, you have loved us, and in your mercy wished that your only begotten Son should become one of us and should bring us who are sinners before you. That is why you sent you Son as our redeemer." (cfr. OOCC III 139)

Prayer

L.	Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
R.	We kneel before you, the all-holy,  and thank you for all the graces  you have bestowed on us.
L.	We praise and glorify you, heavenly Father.
R.	You created the world out of nothing  by your loving, infinite power.  You have endowed us with understanding  and predestined us to become the image of your Son.  Through him we recognize and love you as our Father.  With him we see you in eternal splendour.
L.	He is the "light of the world" (Jn 8:12),  but also a "sign that is opposed" (Lk 2:34).
R.	We too stand in peril of scandal and unfaithfulness.
L.	Touch our innermost being  and give us the strength  to be steadfast in all decisions.  Help us to understand that faith means  entrusting ourselves to Jesus Christ  and with him being able to start anew.  Help us to persevere in this faith  through all challenges and temptations.
R.	Amen.

R.	At the end of this day give us inner peace  and the joy of your presence.

A.     The Law of the Society of the Catholic Apostolate reads:

"By your consecration we give ourselves entirely to God, and we resolve to follow Jesus by living in the Society according to the norms of its legislation.  So we promise to the Society: consecrated celibacy, poverty, obedience, perseverance, the sharing of resources and a spirit of service.  This is our response to God's invitation to live for him and to serve all in the world by living in fraternal community." (SAC Law 18)

B.     St. Vincent Pallotti writes about the apostolate of all the baptized:

"The commandment of love bids us to glorify God above all and to love our neighbour as ourselves.  Therefore, we are obliged to care for our own eternal salvation and that of our neighbour, in every way possible.  In the observance of these commandments we imitate Jesus Christ, who is the Apostle of the Eternal Father.  Hence the apostolic life of Jesus Christ ought to be the example for our apostolate." (OOCC III 142f)

Prayer

L.	Lord, there are people who wait for us.
R.	They need a word of encouragement,  they rely on our patience.
L.	Many hope for a letter from us or a visit.  They need the time and the compassion  that we are able to give them.
R.	Many of them expect us to know them by name.
L.	They look to us for an open door.  They need a place and some time to talk to us.  They need us to share their burden with them.
R.	Lord, we too are guests in your house.  We have come to you,  you are ready to listen to us.  You welcome us and share our burden.
L.	And now we bring before you  all those who have come to us.  Accept them and accept us  with all the burdens that we carry.
R.	Lord, you welcome us.  Let us rest with you.  Give us the courage to keep our doors open  so that all who seek us will find you. Amen.
